City of Manistee is Redevelopment Ready!
On January 20, 2017 the City made became the tenth community to be certified under the statewide Redevelopment Ready Communities (RRC) program.
One of the components of the RRC program is identifying and prioritizing redevelopment sites. The following sites were identified at an annual joint meeting as priority redevelopment sites. Three of the sites have been featured in the Opportunity Michigan publications.

Industrial Park Property for Sale
The City of Manistee has industrial property for sale at the Renaissance Industrial Park. Utilities include City of Manistee Water and Sewer; Natural Gas, supplied through DTE Energy; Electrical service, supplied by Consumers Energy; Telephone, provided through AT&T; Fiber optic communication lines. Contact the City Manager for additional information.
Lake Michigan Industrial Park
In 1972 the City of Manistee received a Federal EDA grant for the construction of an Industrial Park on approximately 60 acres of property on the west side of North Washington Street. This property is zoned L-I Light Industrial for industries which traditionally do not cause excessive noise, vibration, odors, visual blight, pollution, use hazardous processes; and to be compatible with the City ‘s Master Plan.
Manistee Renaissance Park
The Manistee Renaissance Park contains 61 acres of land. The park is located on M–55 in Manistee Township about two miles east of the intersection of M-55 and US 31. The park is approximately two miles from Blacker Airport and Manistee Medical Center and about four miles from Manistee’s Central Business District.The property is zoned industrial under the Manistee Township Zoning Ordinance. The intended use is industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution or research. In the interest of development and job creation, the City will work with Manistee Township to afford maximum flexibility to developers in the event that Special Uses require deviation from the Industrial Zoning.
