Coronavirus Precautions - Building Closures

With the coronavirus numbers spiking in Manistee County, the State of Michigan, and across the entire United States, it’s in the best interest of our community to re-institute some precautions to safeguard, to the extent possible, our employees and the public from potential exposure to the coronavirus. The precautions will begin on November 19, 2020 and include the following:

All City buildings will be closed to the public until further notice. Closure includes:

  • City Hall/Police Department
  • Department of Public Works
  • Fire Department
  • Marina
  • Waste Water Treatment Plant

Signs are posted at the entrances to City Hall with the telephone numbers for each department so that business can be conducted over the telephone. Individual appointments can be arranged under certain circumstances.

Signs ask customers wanting to pay bills to use the after-hours payment drop boxes located at City Hall. If customers wish to pay their water bill by phone or online follow the below instructions:

  • To make a telephone payment call 1.888.891.6064 and follow the prompts.
  • To make an online payment visit our website at and select the payment      option.
  • Both options require that you have your account number and PIN number (found on left side of bill) available.

City Council meetings and most other City public meetings will be conducted virtually. Please check the website and/or the City’s Facebook page for participation details.
