What is the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority?
State law enacted in 1996 allowed municipalities to establish Brownfield Redevelopment Authorities (BRA). The City of Manistee BRA was created in 2006 by City Council to facilitate the redevelopment of “Brownfield” sites, meaning Contaminated and/or Blighted and/or Functionally Obsolete and/or Historic properties.
