Jeff Daniels with the Ben Daniels Band
Wednesday, August 20, 8:00 p.m.

Sponsored by

Well known actor and musician Jeff Daniels is coming back to Manistee, performing both humorous and poignant songs backed by none other than his son’s band, The Ben Daniels Band.

When you think of “grassroots” and “down to Earth,” you don’t normally think of a movie star. You especially don't think of a movie star
the caliber of Jeff Daniels. Yet that is exactly what Jeff has accomplished with his second CD Grandfather’s Hat. With the follow-up album to Live and Unplugged, Daniels has proven that he is not an actor who sings, but an accomplished singer/songwriter who’s musical talent does not require the support of his acting.

Actor Jeff Daniels was born in Athens, Georgia but raised in Chelsea, Michigan, where his father Robert owns The Chelsea Lumber Company. He attended Central Michigan University, but became involved in acting and dropped out to pursue a career as an actor. Visit his website at

When Ben Daniels, Jeff’s son, decided he was going to be a musician, it was more than a career choice. A natural poet, this young songwriter went to school on Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, and Jack White, among others. His lyrics speak directly to a younger generation that hears, sees, and thinks about the very things he’s writing. From their opening song to the finale of their set, the Ben Daniels Band cuts through with their originality, musicianship, and a sound that spans blues, reggae, hip hop, and even jazz.

Throughout years of touring, the Ben Daniels Band has played notable venues in Michigan such as The Ark, The Blind Pig, and the Magic Bag, and have toured to New York City, Washington D.C., and Nashville.
