Comedian Brad Upton
Brad Upton
Saturday, July 26, 8:00 p.m.

Brad Upton is a past winner of the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and appeared recently at Caesar's Palace as part of the HBO Comedy Festival. Twenty-nine years and 5400 shows have made this Seattle based comic a much sought after performer and earned the respect of his peers.

Writing about everyday life, a long term marriage and anything else that pops into his head, Brad packs more laughs-per-minute into his set than nearly anyone in the business. He has been seen in concert with Johnny Mathis, Kenny Rogers, The Smothers Brothers, Lewis Black, Joan Rivers, Dolly Parton, Rita Rudner and Tim Allen. He is currently touring theaters and performing arts centers with The Masters of Stand Up, a group that includes comedy stars: Jimmy Brogan, Cathy Ladman and Maryellen Hooper. His new CD entitled, "Smart Guy, Stupid World" is heard regularly on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio and is available on iTunes. Visit his website at http://www.bradupton.com/

Opening for Brad Upton is D.K. Hamilton, A “student of human behavior,” D.K. Hamilton is a comedy club favorite, entertaining audiences with his unique, smart, and sardonic takes on pop culture, race, and relationships. Named “Funniest Person in Grand Rapids” by Grand Rapids Magazine for two consecutive years and featured in its March 2013 issue, D. K. finds humor in examining the things that we secretly believe but are too polite to say out loud. Using his ability to entertain a great variety of audiences without resorting to lowest common denominator humor, D.K. Hamilton was an audience favorite at the 2010 Laugh Detroit Comedy Festival, performed in the 2012 FOX 101.3 Brew Ha Ha, and performed in Gilda’s Laughfest 2011, 2012, and 2013.

In addition to performing, D.K. Hamilton is an award-winning humor columnist and has contributed to popular internet humor sites.

Jeff Daniels with the Ben Daniels Band

Well known actor and musician Jeff Daniels is coming back to Manistee, performing both humorous and poignant songs backed by none other than his son’s band, The Ben Daniels Band.

When you think of “grassroots” and “down to Earth,” you don’t normally think of a movie star. You especially don't think of a movie star
the caliber of Jeff Daniels. Yet that is exactly what Jeff has accomplished with his second CD Grandfather’s Hat. With the follow-up album to Live and Unplugged, Daniels has proven that he is not an actor who sings, but an accomplished singer/songwriter who’s musical talent does not require the support of his acting.

Actor Jeff Daniels was born in Athens, Georgia but raised in Chelsea, Michigan, where his father Robert owns The Chelsea Lumber Company. He attended Central Michigan University, but became involved in acting and dropped out to pursue a career as an actor. Visit his website at http://www.jeffdaniels.com/

When Ben Daniels, Jeff’s son, decided he was going to be a musician, it was more than a career choice. A natural poet, this young songwriter went to school on Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, and Jack White, among others. His lyrics speak directly to a younger generation that hears, sees, and thinks about the very things he’s writing. From their opening song to the finale of their set, the Ben Daniels Band cuts through with their originality, musicianship, and a sound that spans blues, reggae, hip hop, and even jazz.

Throughout years of touring, the Ben Daniels Band has played notable venues in Michigan such as The Ark, The Blind Pig, and the Magic Bag, and have toured to New York City, Washington D.C., and Nashville.

Tickets just $27.50 in advance and $32.50 at the door. Reserved seating. Call MyNorth Tickets at 1-800-836-0717 or order online here!
