Construction updates for the week of September 19


RDIA – Lining

This past week

  • A progress meeting was conducted to obtain a schedule for the remaining work
  • A traffic control plan was discussed for detouring the truck route for manhole rehabilitation at Fifth St & Sibben St
  • Three manholes were prepped and lined, two on Third Street and one on Davis Street

 Upcoming week

  • Contractor to be on site completing punch list work
  • Detour signage to be set up on Third Street & Ramsdell Street to reroute the truck route away from Fifth & Sibben intersection
  • Manhole reconstruction to occur at Fifth & Sibben
  • Final two manholes to be prepped and lined with cured in place manhole liners (Fifth & Sibben, and behind Century Terrace)

 

RDIIA – Conveyance

This past week

  • No work occurred this past week

 Upcoming week

  • Start excavation for sanitary sewer once railroad tunneling is completed for Headworks building

 

RDIIB – Treatment Facility

This past week

  • Poured 572.50 slab
  • Completed sand backfill for tank 3 and excavated for the footing wall 
  • Prepped for the East  sub grade wall to be poured on Monday (weather permitting)
  • Started leveling off the tank 1 location. We’re not able to achieve density water is to be added, and the area compacted more 
  • Put the bottom forms and scaffolding in for the finished floor deck in 50% of the building

 Upcoming week

  • Lowe will be on site to prepare for tunneling at the end of the week 
  • Continue to backfill around head works where possible 
  • Prepare tank locations for stone and prep grade beams 
  • Pour east wall coming up to finished floor

 

Riverbank Erosion & Riverwalk Repairs

This past week

  • Sidewalk 90% poured. The remaining section will be added later because it is in the staging area
  • Reach A armor stone approximately 80% installed 
  • Deck boards 100% installed 
  • Began installing railing for the river walk boardwalk 

 Upcoming week 

  • Continuing Reach A armor stone and toe stone
  • Continue/complete installing railing on the river walk
  • Reviewing and planning possible extension of project limits 
  • Cut in remaining joints for sidewalk 

 

2021 Streets (Jackson, Van Buren, Jefferson, 8th Street)

This past week

  • 620 feet of new 8-inch ductile iron watermain constructed on Van Buren Street
  • 1 new fire hydrant installed on Van Buren Street
  • Tree & brush clearing completed on Jefferson Street

 Upcoming week

  • Contractor to continue installing watermain on Van Buren Street
  • Pressure testing to start for newly constructed water main loop
  • Storm sewer to be constructed on Jackson Street

 

Municipal Roofs

This past week

  • Approved Change Order 2 for flag pole removal and small roof at CWRF
  • Pay application processed

 Upcoming week

  • Continue working through solution for drains at City Hall
  • Mobilizing to perform Change Order work
  • Potentially working on Water Works building roof or Fire Station roof depending on weather
  • Continue working on City Hall and punch list for well houses

 

Municipal Marina Dock Replacement Phase II

This past week

  • Bid Tab & recommendation to accept low bidder sent to City for review

 Upcoming week

  • On agenda for Tuesday, September 21 City Council meeting
